Headquartered in Bridgeport, West Virginia, Mountain V was founded in March 1994 by Steve and Mike Shaver and is a successful, privately owned, oil and gas production company. Mountain V was formed with the intent to acquire and develop oil and gas reserves in the Appalachian Basin, with particular emphasis in West Virginia.
Mountain V has been successful in its 14 year history by
drilling 315 wells in West Virginia and Pennsylvania and acquiring over 300
wells in this time. Mountain V has also monetized its
older assets by various divestitures through the years to companies such as Linn
Energy and Northcoast Energy Eastern a subsidiary of EXCO Resources. Mountain V currently owns and operates 284 oil and gas wells on approximately 30,000 proven acres in West Virginia
and Pennsylvania.
